Talking Common Core at NICHE

I’m speaking tomorrow at the annual conference for the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators (NICHE).  I was recently contacted and so I’m a late addition to the schedule.  They wanted to learn more about the Common Core and how it might impact home educators.

So my workshop is at 1:00p.  Here’s the description of my workshop:

“Rotten to the (Common) Core” – Shane Vander Hart

There has been a shift in education policy that has largely gone unnoticed. Starting this year, forty-six states, including Iowa, are implementing new standards that will reach beyond public schools. Shane will give six primary reasons why we should care about the Common Core State Standards taking root in our state and what we can do about it.

If you’d like to attend they do accept walk-in registrations.
